990,845. Dry shavers. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. Oct. 23, 1963 [Oct. 26, 1962], No. 41853/63. Heading B4B. A hair-clipping attachment for a dry shaver having a rotary driving member comprises a driving plate 11 pivotable about a pin 17 in the lower part 9 of a housing and having an aperture 10 through which extends a shaft 6 formed with a ring of teeth 12 meshing with a toothed wheel 13 formed integrally with an eccentric 15 which engages a slot 16 in the plate 11, the shaft 6 and wheel 13 being rotatable about spindles 7, 14 embedded in the upper part 8 of the housing. The shaft 6 has a socket 5 to engage the rotary driving member of the shaver. A roller 19 on the free end of the plate 11 engages in a slot or recess 19a of a movable hair-clipping cutter 20 which co-operates with a fixed cutter 21. Rotation of the eccentric 15 imparts an oscillatory motion to the plate 11 and hence to the cutter 20. Alternatively, the plate 11 may be rigidly connected to or formed integrally with the cutter 20.
