Abstract

987,131. Counters. A. LAGARDE. July 13, 1961 [Aug. 1, 1960], No. 25441/61. Heading G4D. [Also in Division H2] A counter is contained in a cartridge which can be plugged into a holder so as to establish electrical connections for operation of the counter. An electromagnetically operated counter 4 is enclosed in a transparent casing secured to a base 8 with pins for engaging sockets 21-27 in a holder. A jack 23 ensures alignment. The holder may be mounted on a parking meter or the like whereby metering cost is entered into the counter T1 at the same time as into a parking meter counter T2. Each cartridge has a resistor r3 which balances a Wheatstone bridge, Fig. 2. If the resistor value is incorrect the cartridge is locked into the holder by interruption of current through solenoid 29 and an alarm is given.
