Abstract

984,264. Toe and finger stalls. SCHOLL MFG. CO. Ltd. July 31, 1963 [July 31, 1962], No. 30400/63. Heading A3V. [Also in Division A5] A toe or finger stall comprises two flat layers of synthetic resin foam material having their contiguous bounding edges heat-sealed together except at one end. Two superimposed layers 4, 5 of synthetic foam material formed as separate pieces or by folding one piece are heat-sealed together along a seam 6 formed by a U-shaped die, the edges 7 between the ends of the seam being left open. Waste material outside the seam is torn away. Vinyl, polyurethane, polyester or isocynate foams may be used. The layers may be covered on the outside before sealing with a vinyl or acetate film, which may be perforated, to form a protective covering which is secured by the heat-sealed seam.
