Abstract
981,377. Stud and socket fastenings. ELBAR INDUSTRIES Ltd. Aug. 13, 1963 [Aug. 26, 1962], No. 31875/63. Heading E2B. In a cable tray 1 with inturned edges 1a (Fig. 1) a series of parallel slots 2a are formed with enlarged apertures 2b to receive the heads of locking members 3 to which a cable clip 4 is secured. Each of the locking members has a square head 3a (Fig. 3) to pass through the aperture 2b, grooves 3b permitting the member, when rotated, to be moved along the slot 2a. Each end of the cable clip 4 is retained by a nut 5 and a washer 6 to the member 3. The member 3 may have a square shoulder and either a square head (Figs. 4 and 5 not shown) or a round head to co-operate with a round aperture 2b (Figs. 6 to 9, not shown). The member 3 may be internally threaded (Figs. 16 and 17, not shown). In a further embodiment, Figs. 10 and 11, the metal 1b from the slot and aperture is pressed down and the head of the member 3 is slotted to engage and pass over it. The head may be rounded (Figs. 13 to 15, not shown). The cable clip may be retained by single member 3. The slots may be arranged longitudinally of the tray and the aperture may be provided part way along the slots. A longitudinal beading which is disposed adjacent and parallel to the inturned edges of the tray 1 and which projects from the front surface of the tray may be provided.
