Abstract

[Also in Division H2] A cable holding device comprises channel shaped cable holding clips 12, Fig. 1, attached at spaced intervals to a support panel 27 by screws 14, and a cover strip 13 which is pressed on to the clips 12 so as to snap-engage over the upstanding arms of the clips and secure the cables 26 in position. The clips may each have a countersink to accommodate the head of the screw and may be attached to the support panel with their bases spaced from the panel, Fig. 5. In a further embodiment, Fig. 7, not shown, each clip is provided with a flexible synthetic plastics insert 49 having a number of grooves 50 in which the cables may be located. Various retaining strips which snapengage into, or slide over, the clips to hold the cables within the clips when the cover strip is removed are described (Figs. 8, 9, 10, not shown). A number of clips may be mounted one on top of the other to hold a deck of cables with a cover strip to snap-engage over all the clips, (Fig. 12, not shown). The specification also describes an alternate form of clip (Fig. 11, not shown) and an alternate method of attaching the clips to the support panel (Fig. 6, not shown). The cover strip and clips are formed from a synthetic plastics material or resilient sheet metal.
