Abstract
878,221. Lamp hotders. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Sept. 4, 1959 [Sept. 8, 1958], No. 28800/58. Class 38 (1). [Also in Group XXV] Apparatus for securing a first body 3 within an aperture 11 in a second body 12 comprises a shoulder in the surface of the first body, at least two bosses 5 on the surface of the first body, said bosses having sides which are inclined to a first face of said second body and are located at least partially on the side of said second body remote from the shoulder when said first body is inserted within said aperture so that the shoulder abuts against the second face of said second body, and a flexible extensible locking member 15 adapted to extend around said first body and to engage with the inclined sides of said bosses and with the first face of said second body, the angle of inclination of said inclined sides being such that as the locking member contracts in length, it forces the shoulder against the said second face so as to secure the first body within the aperture. As shown the body 3 is part of a lamp holder which is provided with a single shoulder 6. The locking member is a coiled steel spring. The body 12 may be a panel or a wire ring which forms part of a lamp shade.
