The " fixed " contact 20 of a circuit-breaker is carried by the ends of coiled conductors 24, 24<SP>1</SP> so that the moving contact 11 is pressed thereagainst with a force that is electrodynamically increased. Also a rubber pad 21 is arranged behind contact 20 so as to prevent contact rebound. A magnetic core 18 is provided.
