Abstract

940,109. Electrically released switches; snap action switches; contact members for switches. WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC CORPORATION. April 17, 1962 [May 19, 1961], No. 14828/62. Heading H2B. The subject-matter of this Specification is identical with that of Specification 940,108 [Division H2] but the claims are concerned with the contact assembly. Two contact arms 27, carrying contacts 25 at one end, support, at the other end, a rod 31. Slots 36 in the arms 27 engage a shaft 33 about which the arms pivot and a spring 29 between shaft 33 and rod 31 biases the shaft 33 towards the bottom of the slots. When the arms 27 are moved into the closed position by members 38 spring 29 is strained and exerts a closing force on the contacts.
