Abstract

908,931. Automatic circuit-breakers. BUSCHJAEGER DUERENER METALLWERKE A.G. Feb. 10, 1959 [Feb. 10, 1958], No. 4610/59. Class 38 (5). An earth-leakage circuit-breaker has a toggleoperating mechanism 5 and a manual tripping arrangement 5h located above the contacts relatively to the fixing plane of the circuitbreaker. The contacts, the toggle mechanism, the manual tripping arrangement and the electromagnetic tripping arrangement 6 are held in recesses within an insulating body 1 and in recesses in the outer surfaces of the insulating body. In the four-pole arrangement shown, the body 1 is in two parts having recesses in the mating surfaces to house the mechanism 5 and the electromagnetic tripping arrangement 6 within the body. The outer surfaces of the body 1 are recessed to accommodate at each side of the body two sets of contacts 11a, 11b, 12a, 12b and a contact operating slide 7. The outer surfaces are also recessed to house resistors 15e, an over-voltage spark-gap 16 and a test switch 15b. The outer recesses are closed by a cover 17 and a further cover 18 may be provided to enclose the various terminals. For surface mounting of the circuit-breaker, a tapped bar 19 is inserted in grooves in the insulating body 1. Figs. 6-14 (not shown) illustrate various detail modifications.
