Abstract

A laminate suitable for flooring and other purposes comprises a printed plastics film sandwiched between a transparent plastics surface layer and a plastics backing layer, which may be cellular, in which is incorporated a reinforcement of natural or synthetic fibres or fabric, e.g. nylon, rayon or cotton. The laminate is assembled by spreading or calendering the surface and backing layer on to the printed film. A suitable plastics material is P.V.C., which may be loaded with calcium carbonate in the case of the backing layer.
