Abstract
975, 372. Cleaning textile machines. MASCHINEN-U APPARATEBAU SCHKEUDITZ VEB. June 8, 1962, No. 22324/62. Heading D1F. [Also in Division B2] Apparatus for cleaning textile machines and the air surrounding the machine, comprises a belt 1 continuously running over rollers 3 and 4 and a friction device for electrostatically charging the belt so that it attracts and retains the dust particles. The belt is made, for example, from polyvinylchloride or a similar plastic material and is driven by a roller 44 which engages a series of perforations on either edge of the belt. Friction rollers 11, 12, which rotate in the opposite direction to the belt to charge the belt, are covered by a a band made from elastic material, preferably doeskin, formed into loops with rubber or like elastic cord inserted into the loops (Fig. 5 not shown). Dirt is transferred from the belt to a container 17 by a spring-pressed stripper 18. The whole cleaning arrangement is reciprocated along a rail 24 by a rope drive from the machine and is guided by another rail 28. The pulleys 22, which run on the rail 24, drive the rollers 11,12 and 44 through gearing which changes the oscillatory movement into a unidirectional movement. Two such cleaning devices may be arranged on either side of the machine, as shown in Fig. 1, with the reciprocating movements, preferably, exactly out of phase with each other.
