Abstract

972,813. Catch fastenings; hinges and pivots. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS G.m.b.H. Jan. 24, 1961, No. 2810/61. Headings E2A and E2F. A spring catch means comprises a plunger 3 acting as a hinge pin of a detachable closure member 1, the plunger being spring loaded and supported by the closure member for axial sliding movement and having a head 4 urged by the spring 5 into a recess 10 in a frame 2, the head and the recess being so shaped as to prevent relative rotation and the spring being under a torsional stress tending to keep the closure member in the closed position in the frame. The head of the plunger and the recess are of polygonal shape in cross-section and the spring plunger is held in the retracted position by a detachable bolt 9 engaging a neck portion 6 of the plunger. The bolt 9 passes through a hole 7 in the closure member 1. When the plunger is in the retracted position it is held against rotation by the torsion of the spring by means of a stop 8 on the closure member which engages one of the faces of the head.
