Abstract

The invention comprises monoazo dyes of formula <FORM:0966677/C4-C5/1> wherein "halogen" is bromine, chlorine or fluorine and the nucleus A may be further substituted. They are prepared by coupling 1-diazo-2 : 4-dimethyl-benzene-6-sulphonic acid with a 1-(21-halophenyl)-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone. They give yellow shades on wool, silk, leather and synthetic polyamides. In the examples the further substituents in A are halogen atoms, alkyl, sulphonic acid, sulphonamide and N-hydroxy-or - alkoxy-alkyl-sulphonamide groups.
