Abstract

964,154. Counterbalancing mobile jib cranes. SCHWERMASCHINENBAU S. M. KIROW VEB. May 28, 1962, No. 20356/62. Heading B8B. After a counterweight 5, Fig. 2, has been lifted from an auxiliary trolley 4 on to a trolley 1 by a jib-crane 3 the crane base 2 is slewed through 180 degrees and the weight is coupled to the base 2 by telescopic arms 10, Fig. 5, and raised by rams 13. The arms 10 are extended by rams 12 and have recesses 11 which engage studs 8 on the counterweight. A locating recess 6, Fig. 2, is provided on the trolley 1. Two separate counterweights may be provided, Fig. 7, either or both of which may be used.
