Abstract

962,845. Cleaning winding machines. WILLIAM BIRTWISTLE ALLIED MILLS Ltd. June 21, 1963 [June 27, 1962], No.24592/62. Heading D1F. In an automatic winding machine in which a knotting head 2 travels on an endless track 3 around the machine, a blow-off fan 6 being mounted on the head to direct a stream of air towards the bobbin pockets and a brush being provided to pick up dust, fly &c. from the winding drums, a suction chamber a is mounted on the intake of the fan 6 and a suction conduit B leads therefrom to an inlet nozzle disposed adjacent the brush. The suction chamber has an internal porous bag to collect the dust &c., (Fig. 3 not shown). To avoid fouling of a belt drive to a timing unit by the conduit B the belt is diverted around a pair of jockey pulleys (Fig. 4 not shown).
