Abstract

959,020. Plate heat exchangers. A.P.V. CO. Ltd. July 14, 1961 [July 20, 1960], No. 25335/60. Heading F4S. A heat exchanger plate contains longitudinally spaced ribs, each rib comprising transverse sections 1b and oblique sections 2b such that when two or more plates are assembled face to face, the oblique sections bear against one another and the transverse sections overlie to provide an undulating flow passage. As shown, the oblique sections may be alternately oppositely inclined or may be sloped in a similar direction (Fig. 7, not shown). The transverse and oblique sections are shown of equal depth but the depth of the transverse sections may be greater or less than the depth of the oblique sections.
