Abstract

1,016,313. Block-type heat exchangers. FARBWERKE HOECHST A.G. Sept. 2, 1963 [Aug. 31, 1962], No. 34627/63. Heading F4S. A heat exchanger comprises at least one graphite block shaped as a rectangular prism and having two sets of holes therein, one set opening into one end face and the other into the other end face of the block, the other ends of the holes opening into a side face of the block. A heat exchanger may comprise a plurality of the blocks clamped together in abutment with return headers and inlet and outlet connections made of graphite, ceramic material or steel having a surface coated with rubber.
