944,539. Pipe couplings. ARVID FRIMANN HELLAND. April 19, 1962 [April 19, 1961], No. 15262/62. Heading F2G. A pipe coupling comprises a sleeve nut 5 cooperating with a nipple 1 to actuate a clamping means which includes a split collar 7, a resilient sealing ring 9 seated in a groove 6 provided in the bore of the nipple 1 and a thrust ring 8 located between the collar and sealing ring. Both ends of the collar are bevelled as also is the thrust face 11 of nut 5. The edge of the thrust ring adjacent the collar 7 may be bevelled and the bore of the collar may be provided with a fluting or the like.
