Abstract

943,679. Building blocks; walls. K. R. HOLST-LARSEN. July 24, 1962, No. 28506/62. Headings E1B and E1V. A building block formed with a through cavity is provided in its end faces with apertures 2, 3 and in a side face with weakened portions 5, 6, both the apertures 2, 3 and the openings lift on removal of the portions 5, 6 having sides which are inclined and converge towards the outside of the block. The block is also provided with edge grooves 7 and its upper and lower edges 8, are rounded and formed with grooves 9 for reinforcing rods. In a wall the cavities in the blocks are filled with mortar and plugs are inserted in apertures 2, 3 of blocks lying at a corner or end of the wall. To adjust the length of a wall half blocks are used, or alternatively spacing elements are inserted between blocks.
