[Also in Division D1] Couplings transmitting power to and between shafts of textile carding machines have manually displaceable clutch elements permitting disconnection of drive. A toothed plate 15 is spring-urged into engagement with a toothed plate 16 rigidly connected to an input shaft. Through an annulus 61, plate 15 is connected to a plate 14 screwed on a thread portion of a sleeve 18 rigidly connected to the drive output. Rotation of plate 14 relative to the sleeve 18 connects or disconnects the drive. The carding machines are mounted on base units 1 secured by bolts or the like to beams 2.
