Abstract

942,164. Soldering. SULZER FRERES S.A. July 10, 1961 [Sept. 1, 1960], No. 24959/61. Heading B3R. In a brazed or soldered joint between two cylindrical members, one fits inside the other with a capillary gap between them filled by brazing metal or solder the larger diameter member has a terminal portion of greater internal diameter than the portion bounding the capillary gap and the terminal portion has at least one aperture in its wall for the introduction of the solder or brazing metal. A long tube 2 is introduced into the recessed end of a tube 1 and is brazed or soldered thereto over a circumferentially grooved area 4 by brass or solder introduced through apertures 5 in a portion 3 of larger internal diameter than the area 4.
