Abstract
937,500. Travelling wave tubes. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. July 14, 1960 [July 17, 1959], No. 24573/60. Class 39 (1). In a travelling wave tube of the helix type with disc seals 2, 3 at the end of the helix to which the ends of the helix are connected, conductors 14 are attached indirectly to the discs 2, 3 and are connected to points on the helix several turns from the ends of the helix. The conductors 14 are connected to discs 2, 3 via transition cylinders 4, 13. The helix 5 is supported by three ceramic rods 6 having cuts for the helix. Two pairs of mica plates 8, spaced along the tube and at right-angles to one another, are coated with lossy material and are supported by mica discs 10 held together by two ceramic rods 11 and supported by mica plates 12. Discs 2, 3 are coupled to waveguide feeders.
