935,686. Door and window frames; weather excluders. S. R. ROTHWELL. Dec. 9, 1959 [Sept. 12, 1958], No. 29301/58. Class 20 (3). [Also in Groups XXXII and XXXIII] A method of forming an edging on a window or door, or a surround therefor, on a motor car, aircraft, ship, or building, comprises fixing one side of a particular form of easily bendable transversely slotted metal strip, Fig. 1, on the frame or door, bending the strip longitudinally so as to form an angle strip and then strengthening the unfixed side of the strip by fixing longitudinally on that side wires or a plate connecting across the slots. The strip bent as shown in Fig. 2, is fixed as an angled edging to a door frame 3 or door 6, Figs. 3, 4 and 5, the series of flaps 4 on one side of the strip being connected together by one or more wires 5 or a plate 8 spot-welded thereto. The flaps 4 may be bent to required configurations and may be protected on their edges by flexible plastics strips 7 of rubber and so on which also form seals. In Fig. 11, for example, four metal strips are used with strengthening plates 8 and panels 11 to form double wall side and door constructions. The metal strips may be fixed by welding, riveting, or gluing, and the plastics strips 7 may be glued.
