Abstract

1375596 Vehicle windows J I GATES 5 May 1972 [21 May 1971] 20981/72 Heading E1J A window comprises a frame of rigid thermoplastics having a web 18 with flanges 19 on one side for supporting a pane 11 and a flange 22 on the other side for mounting, the frame extending around the periphery of a curved aperture. Pane 11 is secured by bonding 32 and rubber strip 33. Vehicle body 16 is secured between flange 22 and interior frame member 13 which is attached by screws 36. Alternatively the frame members are attached by engaging serrated flanges (Fig. 7) or a frame member (80, Fig. 8) is secured by mounting member (88). In Fig. 4 (not shown) frame member 41 accommodates fixed and slidable panes 39, 40 and slidable screen 38.
