Abstract

<PICT:0934838/IV(a)/1> <PICT:0934838/IV(a)/2> Keys are manufactured from uniformly fine-grained crystalline polyamides of a grain size between 1 to 5 m , which may contain fillers, lubricants, pigments or dyestuffs. A suitable polyamide comprises polycaprolactam having a relative viscosity of about 3,1 when measured in 1% p-cresol solution at 20 DEG C., and a content by weight of 0,01% of very finely divided graphite or 0,0001% of very finely divided lithium fluoride. This is melted at about 240 DEG C. and injection moulded to produce the keys, which may be subjected to high stresses, without breaking. Specification 851,300 is referred to.
