Abstract
934,609. Hot-water boilers. COCHRAN & CO. ANNAN Ltd. June 26, 1962 [June 30, 1961], No. 23765/61. Class 64(1). In a water heating boiler 1 for use with a hot-water circulating system 13 which includes an outlet 11 for the outflow of hot water to the boiler from the system, the inlet 14 terminates in a nozzle 15 situated in the upper part of the water chamber of the boiler and is arranged to direct a stream of water into the flared upper end 17 of a receiving passage 16 lying within the water chamber thus inducing a flow of water from the upper part of the water chamber into the passage 16 to be discharged from the opposite end 18 of the passage 16 in the lower part of the water chamber hence resulting in the circulation of water within the water chamber. In a modification, Fig. 3, not shown, the inlet passage 14 terminates in a double nozzle arrangement and there are two receiving passages each of the nozzles being arranged to direct a stream of water into one of the receiving passages which terminate as described in the lower part of the water chamber.
