A road vehicle comprising lower and upper platforms 2, 4 has the upper platform connected to the lower by pivoted swing links 14 and by rollers 20 mounted on the upper platform which may run in guide tracks. By operating screw jacks or hydraulic rams 32 the upper platform may be raised or lowered. A removable transverse locking bar 28 is provided.
