Abstract

1,248,261. Lever jacks. J. C. BOWKER. 24 Dec., 1969 [31 Dec., 1968], No. 61856/68. Heading B8J. Jacking apparatus comprises a wheeled base 1 with a column 2 at one end on which is pivoted on a pin 3 a lifting arm 4. A loadengaging, swivelling saddle 13 is arranged at the free end of the arm 4 and has a parallel link arrangement 12. A separate jack 6, shown as an hydraulic jack, stands in an enlargement la of the base, engages an abutment 5a pivoted to the arm 4 and when operated may lift a vehicle (not shown) a distance which may be three or four times the maximum lift of the jack.
