Abstract

929,125. Clamp fastenings. ROBERT RIGBY Ltd. March 22, 1962 [April 25, 1961], No. 14828/61. Class 44. A scaffold fitting comprises a body 12 which is adapted to embrace a scaffold tube to clamp the latter to an article such as another tube, the clamping being effected by a threaded member which is screw engaged with a nut 10 which is retained in the body by a circlip 11. The nut has a hexagonal portion 14 and a cylindrical spigot portion 15, the spigot portion projecting through an aperture. The spigot portion has a peripheral groove in which the circlip 11 is located, the circlip seating on the outer surface of the body. The nut is prevented from rotation by local crimpings 16 of the body which cause the body to engage opposite faces of the hexagonal portion 14.
