927,290. Cassettes for radiographic film. SOC. INDUSTRIELLE D'APPLICATION DES RADIOELEMENTS. June 2, 1960 [June 2, 1959], No. 19560/60. Class 98 (1). A cassette for radiographic film consists of two flexible envelopes, one within the other; the inner one is a plain rectangular envelope, while the outer one is longer than the inner one so that the extended part can be folded back as a flap, with means for closing and fastening the flap. The inner envelope (not shown) has the size of the rectangle ABCD, open at one long side only (e.g. AD). The sheets forming the outer envelope are joined so as to leave an opening at the short side AB only. The back sheet 2 is longer than the front sheet 3 to facilitate manipulation. The long sides have marginal portions 4, 5 extending beyond the joined edges AD, BC. The end of the outer envelope forms a flap which folds shut about the line AB. On one side of AB the margins have eyelets 41, 42 and 51, 52 which engage with fasteners 43, 44 and 53, 54 to hold the flap closed. At the other end of the envelope, further eyelets 45, 55 may be provided. These may engage with the fasteners if the cassette is bent round into a cylinder. Alternatively they may engage with the fasteners of another cassette so that two cassettes may be joined end to end.
