923,498. Fluid-pressure brakes. FABBRICA ITALIANA MAGNETI MARELLI S.p.A. July 9, 1959 [July 9, 1958], No. 23644/59. Class 103 (1). [Also in Groups XVIII and XXXVII] A distributer valve for pneumatic braking systems is provided with a microswitch 13 for controlling the brake lights when the plunger 7 of the valve is moved out of its rest position. The stepped plunger 7 is controlled by a foot brake lever linked to an operating rod 17 and is provided with a projection 8 which acts on an inlet valve 5 to control flow between a compressed-air reservoir, via connection 3, and a pipe connection 4 to the brakes. Connection 2 supplies compressed air from a compressor to the air reservoir connection 3. A stepped portion 9 of the plunger 7 supports a gasket 10 and a sloping portion 11 of the plunger acts on a microswitch 13 so that movement of the plunger 9 upwardly operates the switch 13 and after a short timelag the brakes are then applied by opening the inlet valve 5.
