Abstract

923,135. Two-part couplings. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. March 1, 1961 [March 4, 1960], No. 7479/61. Class 38 (1). A multi-contact socket adapted to co-operate with a plug 11 having strip-shaped contacts such as printed contact paths 12, comprises an insulating body 1 in which juxtaposed parallel slots 3 are formed, each slot having at least one substantially M-shaped spring contact 5 of wire or strip secured therein by a rod 23 common to all the slots, which passes transversely through holes 25 formed in partitions 7 between the slots, and traps bent extension 19 of one limb of each contact against two projections 21 on the base of the body 1. The plug 11 is received in grooves 9 formed in the partitions 7, its strip-shaped contacts engaging portions 13 of the contacts 5.
