921,799. Dehairing leather. ROHM & HAAS G.m.b.H. May 25, 1961 [June 4, 1960], No. 18982/61. Class 76. Skins and hides which are dehaired by treatment with proteolytic enzymes are treated before during or after the enzyme treatment with salts, anhydrides, esters or amides of the phthalic acids of phthalimide preferably at pH 5.5 to 7.5. Additional treatment materials specified are glucosidases, galactosidases, soda, ammonium chloride, sodium sulphite, ammonium sulphite, sodium bisulphite, sodium sulphite and sodium bicarbonate. Specification 776,323 and German Specification 268,873 are referred to.
