Abstract

921,522. Chucks; turning. UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY. Jan. 15, 1962 [Feb. 1, 1961], No. 3757/61. Class 83 (3). A collet chuck comprises a tubular slitted collet 3, a concentric outer sleeve 4 and eccentric surfaces 6, 5 whereby rotation of the sleeve causes closing of the collet. The collet is prevented from rotation by a bar in a square bore 8. The collet has a surface 9 for locating a workpiece held at its other end in a similar chuck having no such surface. Two cutters rotating concentrically with the chucks part off a length of the workpiece.
