Abstract
920,999. Making cartons. JAGENBERGWERKE A.G. Jan. 16, 1961 [Jan, 19, 1960], No. 1727/61. Class 18. The first pair of flaps 1, 3, Fig. 2, of a carton with an inner coating or lining 8 attached thereto is folded in and the meeting edges of the flaps and lining bent upwards to form an upstanding seam 10, Fig. 3, which is then folded flat and covered by the second pair of flaps 2, 4. The lining 8 may be of heat sealable material and is stuck to the inside of the box and arranged to be continuous at the corners between the flaps. Prior to folding, the flaps 2, 4 are cut at lines 6 and the flaps 1, 3 creased at lines 5 so that when the flaps 1, 3, are folded in the edges fold up easily at lines 5 and the sides of the lining fold over to form triangular tabs 11. After sealing of the seam 10 and tabs 11, and folding the seam 10 flat, the flaps 2, 4, are folded inwardly and secured e.g. by adhesive or by the portion of the lining remaining on the flaps between the incisions 6.
