Abstract
916,450. Picture &c. frames. SIELLE, R. Feb. 28, 1961, No. 7263/61. Class 11. A frame for a picture, mirror or the like, comprises outer members 10 extending round the picture, at least one back support member 11 secured to the outer members and means for attaching the picture to the back support so that said means do not cover any part of the front surface of the picture, there being a continuous clear space between the outer members and the picture. A picture 13 is mounted on a stretcher 14 attached to the back support 11 by screws 17. The latter pass through enlarged slots or apertures 18 in the back support so that they may be adjusted laterally to accommodate any variation in size of the picture stretcher. The latter may be spaced from the back support by distance pieces, Fig. 3 (not shown). The outer members have flanges 20, 23 to support a sheet of glass and strips of sealing material are provided to prevent dust entering from the front. The rear of the frame may be closed in a dust-proof manner by a sheet of material secured to the back support members or by a single back support member in the form of a sheet of plywood.
