Abstract

915,674. Air blowers and hair dryers. WIDMANN, E., [trading as GOTTLOB WIDMANN & SOHNE KOMM.-GES.]. Nov. 3, 1961 [Nov. 15, 1960], No. 39539/61. Class 81 (2). In an electric hand blower the axis of the handle and the axis of the nozzle enclose an acute angle, preferably of 35 degrees, the two axes being located in the same plane and their angle opening in the direction of the blast, while the handle has on its side remote from the nozzle a resting surface intersecting at right angles said plane, the line passing through the centre of gravity of the blower also passing through said surface when the blower stands thereupon. A blower casing 10a and a nozzle 11 are aligned, and a handle 10b projects from the blower casing 10a. The blower may be either held by the handle as a hair dryer, or may rest on the lower face of the handle with the nozzle inclined upwardly for use as a face massager, or may be hung by a loop 14 with the handle abutting an adjacent wall and the nozzle inclined downwardly for use as a hand dryer. The blower may also be stood upon rubber feet 13 arranged radially at the annular intake end of the blower casing 10a. Push-button switches 16 are provided at the base of the handle. A heating element is provided at the outer end of the nozzle.
