Abstract
914,588. Loose-leaf binders. MOORE'S MODERN METHODS Ltd. July 6, 1961 [July 15, 1960], No. 24838/60. Class 146 (1). A loose-leaf binder comprising covers 1, 2 hinged to a rigid spine 3 carrying binding means such as a ring is characterized in that the hinges 7 are located on the opposite side of the spine from the binding means, so that either cover may be folded to lie flat against the outer surface of the other cover. The hinges stop short of the upper and lower edges of the spine and said edges may be reinforced by metal blocks 8. The covers and spine are formed from aluminium sheet. Two superposed. sheets of flexible, transparent, synthetic plastic material, are clamped together along one edge by two metal strips and welded together along the side edges at right-angles to the metal strips to form a pocket. The latter is hinged to the free edge of the cover 2 parallel to the hinges 7 by means of one of the metal strips, so that the pocket may be positioned to lie -against the. inner surface of the cover 2.
