909,253. Reclining chairs. SCHLIEPHACKE, F. F. Jan. 30, 1959, No. 3502/59. Class 52 (2). A reclining chair &c. comprises a stationary frame 20, a back rest 26 and a seat 32 in which the seat 32 is supported during tilting on two pairs of guide links 40, 28, pivoted to the frame at 42, 30, and to the seat at 41 and back rest at 38, the rearward tilting of the seat raising the leg rest 44 by mechanism comprising two pairs of links 46, 56; 52, 60, the links 56, 60 being pivoted to the seat and the links 46, 52 being pivoted to the leg rest 44, the links 52 and 56 being articulated at 57, the leg rest actuating mechanism being controlled by a link 72 pivoted to the frame independently of the link 40. In a modification (Fig. 6, not shown), the seat and back rest form a single unit and the rear pair of guide links 28 are made very short.
