Abstract

906,466. Hot-water boilers. ROBINSON, H. A. April 4, 1961 [April 9, 1960], No. 12710/60. Class 64 (1). A water-heating boiler in the form of a vertical tubular sleeve encloses a plurality of water carrying tubes connecting a lower part of the boiler to an upper part each tube being near the wall of the boiler as distinct from being diametrically situated so that a spiral sequence is presented, each tube connecting and opening at its extremities into the boiler. The boiler consists of two concentric cylinders a<SP>1</SP> and a<SP>2</SP> fitted with a tangential water inlet a<SP>3</SP> and outlet a<SP>4</SP>. A number of water-carrying tubes b are disposed within a lower section of the boiler as shown, their respective extremities b<SP>1</SP> and b<SP>2</SP> lying on parallel circumferential lines, and an upper series of tubes c is positioned in a superimposed upper section which is connected to the lower section by welding d. The water is heated at a<SP>5</SP> by gas, electric or other means, and the casing e is lagged to conserve the heat. When viewed in plan the tubes form two offset equilateral triangles.
