Abstract

904,639. Pipe couplings. INSHAW, J. L. June 20, 1961 [June 20, 1960], No. 21507/60. Class 99(1). [Also in Group XXVI] Two pipes 1, 2 are formed at the adjacent ends thereof with enlargements 3, 4, each presenting an annular shoulder, received in annular grooves 8, 9 formed in the end faces 6, of a packing ring 5. A segmental housing 10 formed with an internal annular recess 11 having side walls 12, 13 encircles and encloses the enlargements which lie between the side walls. The packing ring may have conical inner and outer surfaces.
