902,709. Chain couplings. KETTLER, O., and KETTLER, H., [trading as HAMMERWERKE HASPE, GEB. KETTLER]. Dec. 22, 1959, No. 43499/59. Class 24. [Also in Group XXX] A shackle for connecting scrapers to the chains of a double chain scraper conveyer consists of a U-shaped link 1 connected between adjacent links 2 of the chain and which has square-section ends 3 adapted to be received in recesses 4 in the adjacent end portion 5 of the scraper. A cover-plate 6 is used in conjunction with the link 1, the cover-plate also having recesses, these and the recesses 4 in the scraper each being of a depth equal to half the thickness of the ends 3. A bolt 7 clamps the link 1 between the cover-plate and the scraper. When clamped, a part 9 on the underside of the coverplate abuts the outer web of the link 1.
