Abstract

An articulated track link assembly engageable with a notched driving sprocket 26 comprises a pair of spaced links 12 interconnected by a pivot joint at each end and having a driving lug 22 which is substantially equidistant from the pivot joints, extends between the links and has front and rear sprocket engaging surfaces with a greater radius of curvature than the pivot joint bushings 14 and of a size and disposition such that the sprocket notches engage the lugs before the bushings. The centre of curvature of the top of the driving lug 22 is on or radially outwardly of a line joining the adjacent pivot joint axes and preferably the track link is rockable through an angle up to 20 degrees upon the driving sprocket. The driving lug may be detachably bolted to a track plate 18 or between a pair of longitudinal links 12 or may be a pressed-in cylindrical member interconnecting a pair of links 12.
