Abstract

767,567. Conveyer chains. ROWNSON, DREW & CLYDESDALE, Ltd. Nov. 17, 1954 [Aug. 20, 1953], No. 23018/53. Class 24. [Also in Group XXX] A conveyer chain comprises links each having two fork-shaped portions 1 and 2, the shanks of which are connected by a cylindrical strut 7 and the arms of which are connected and provided with lugs 8 to form seatings for a forged steel connecting pin 11 provided with a lug 13 and a recess 14 which engages the strut 7 of an adjacent link. The lugs 8 are engaged by the driving sprockets and are provided with flats 9 which are engaged by holding-down plates (see Group XXX) when the chain is negotiating a bend. The links may be made of cast iron, manganese steel, phosphor bronze or a plastic material.
