Abstract

898,620. Two-part couplings. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. March 3, 1960 [March 19, 1959], No. 9592/59. Class 38 (1). A socket contact for receiving a flat pin comprises a metal sheet 1 formed with a transverse trough open over the central part of its base and having the sides cut to form resilient tongues 5, 6 which engage the pin when inserted downwardly into the trough. As shown, the tongues have integral, co-planar ears 7, 8 cut from the sheet 1 and extending upwardly out of the plane thereof to guide the pin between the tongues.
