Abstract

1,022,724. Two-part couplings. BURNDY CORPORATION. Sept. 20, 1963 [Sept. 28, 1962], No. 37116/63. Heading H2E. A contact pin comprises a conductive longitudinally extending body member and an elongate U-shaped spring member having one limb fixed to one end of the body member, the second limb being positioned above a longitudinal surface opening in the body so that when the pin is inserted into a rigid socket the second limb of the spring is deflected into said opening. The limb 20 of the spring 12 is secured to the body 10 by " pinching " the tip of the pin portion 14 at the end 80. A base portion 24 resiliently biases limb 22 away from limb 20, and limb 22 is preferably arcuately bent to form an inclined portion 26 to serve as a lead-in surface for guiding the pin into a mating socket. An annular groove may be provided in the outer surface of the body 10 to engage a detent in a mounting block.
