Abstract

869,497. Two-part couplings. BELLING & LEE Ltd. Dec. 4, 1959, No. 41218/59. Class 38 (1). An electrical contact, formed from a blank, comprises contact tongues 1, 2, a holding tongue 5 and a stem 6 with a solder trap flap 9 and is inserted in a channelled insulating body 10 to form a connector for a printed circuit board 26. The tongues 5 engage a shoulder 24 in the body 10 and an ear 8 on the stem 6 engages the base of the body to hold the contact in position. Contacts assembled in the body 10 are separated by baffles 19, 20 and adjacent contacts have their stems adjacent opposite walls of the support. In another embodiment the contact has two holding tongues and a flat apertured stem with an obtuse-angled bend therein.
