Abstract

896,847. Valves. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. April 9, 1959 [April 9, 1958], No. 11313/58. Class 135. A valve for venting an airborne fuel tank at a predetermined absolute pressure comprises a resilient bellows B of effective area equal to the area inside a seat 3 for the closure member A and sealed to the closure member and to a housing D which is sealed to the body 1 by a ring 5 and is adjustably positioned by a screwed sleeve 4. The space enclosed by the bellows, closure member and housing D contains a loading spring C and is evacuated to eliminate variations of pressure due to temperature changes.
