Abstract

895,257. Liquid applicators. CHISWICK PRODUCTS Ltd. Jan. 16, 1961 [Jan. 14, 1960], No. 1429/60 Class 19. In an applicator adapted to make detachable connection with a nozzle 9 of a container 2 and having bristles 4 thereon to which, in use, the contents of the container are discharged through an aperture 12, a tube 14 extends from the aperture into the bristles and a further tube 15 extends from the aperture and is adapted when the applicator is seated on the nozzle 9 to make a loose fit therewith and to extend beyond the end of the bore of the nozzle. A detachable cap 3 has a pointed rod 16 thereon which when the cap is on the applicator projects beyond the end of tube 15. As shown, the applicator has the tube 12 formed integral therewith and has a depending skirt 10, reinforced by ribs 11, adapted to seat on the shoulders of the container. The periphery of the applicator is provided with cam locking surfaces 5 which co-operate with similar locking surfaces 6 on the cap 3. The pointed tip 17 of the rod 16 forms with the tapered tube 15, when the cap 3 is sealed on the applicator, a pointed spigot for use when the nozzle of the container is initially closed by a membrane.
