Abstract

893,683. Metallic springs. ONTWIKKELINGMAATSCHAPPIJ MULTINORM N.V. May 25, 1959 [May 23, 1958], No. 17774/59. Class 108(3). A spring column for compression between end plates 8, 9, Figs. 1, 2, comprises rhomboidal plates 1 bent or curved in one plane, the ends 2, 3 of the straight diagonal being guided in longitudinal recesses 5 of columns 6, 7 &c. The plates 1 may be arranged in opposed pairs, the points of contact at the ends of the curved diagonal being rounded as at Fig. 4. The plates may also be arranged in laminated pairs as shown in Fig. 5. In other examples the plates 10, Figs. 6, 7, are square and are arranged in two groups separated by a plate 13, each group being mounted in rectangular yokes 12, 12a arranged at right angles for relative sliding engagement during compression. In another example (not shown) end plates 8, 9 as in Fig. 1 are arranged at right angles to provide a separate pair of guides 6, 7 for each group of plates.
